Ramatoulaye Sow

The research project on ”Pope Francis legislator” aims to collect in a systematic way all the norms issued by the Pope during his pontificate and critically analyze this corpus thus offering a complete overview to understand the vision and legal direction and pastoral work of the Bergoglian magisterium. A key point of my research is the analysis of the contents of the Declaration “Fiducia supplicans” of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith with a particular focus on the blessing of homosexual couples. The aim of my research is to ascertain through the analysis of texts and also of African cultural contexts what role they play in post colonial dynamics in the position taken by the Symposium of African Episcopal Conferences regarding the fiducia supplicans of 2023. This work will allow us to understand the juridical and pastoral vision of the magisterium of Pope Francis and the impact of his reforms.
