The research aims to investigate the problem of dialogue between different religions and cultures. Looking at the history of tolerance as a privileged method of Western philosophy to settle the question of the different, the work focuses on the contemporary context of the pluralist and globalised society. Today, everything is relational and otherness can no longer be ignored. On the one hand, we are obliged to relate to others; on the other hand, this plurality gives rise to anxiety and insecurity. Convinced that we have archived faith and replaced it with the notion of culture, we discover instead that the great religious questions about the coexistence of cults are still central and also have much to say about the possibility of intercultural confrontation. The focus of the research is on the identification and definition of the transcendental conditions of dialogue, to understand whether cultural and religious identities are borders or frontiers.
