Gianmarco Braghi

Gianmarco Braghi is Senior Assistant Professor of History of Christianity and Churches at the University of Palermo, where he also oversees internationalization efforts for the joint Master’s and Pontifical Licence in “Religions and Cultures”. He is Deputy Principal Investigator of the NextGenerationEU-funded ITSERR project and serves on the university’s Steering Committee for the European Charter for Researchers. A former senior fellow at FSCIRE (2017–2021), and formerly coordinator of the Giuseppe Alberigo European School for Advanced Religious Studies (2019-2025), he edits volume VI of the Conciliorum Oecumenicorum Generaliumque Decreta series. Since 2021, he has led research at Palermo’s “Giorgio La Pira” Library and co-directs the journal Quaderni di storia religiosa medievale. He also contributes to Mediterranea and is active in several scholarly networks, including REFORC and the advisory board of the international project “Calvin’s Reforming Correspondence”. A graduate of the University of Milan, he completed his PhD at Trinity College Dublin with support from the Irish Research Council, conducting research in Paris and Geneva, where he received a bourse Georges et Pierre Regard from the Institut d’Histoire de la Réformation.
