The research project will provide the critical edition of the Armenian text of a corpus of homilies attributed by the Clavis Patrum Graecorum to the Church Father John Chrysostom. Their study necessarily involves comparison with the Greek Vorlage and, where possible, with the wide range of languages of the Christian East into these texts were translated (Syriac, Georgian, Old Church Slavonic, Coptic, Ethiopic). Some elements will be investigated: the study of scriptural quotations, the vocabulary of biblical hermeneutics, exegetical features and doxology. Finally, as a broader objective, the project envisages the study of the history and genesis of the Armenian homiletic collections (Tōnakan or Čaṙəntir) which contain the texts we will analyse.
