Focus of the research is the analysis of the magazines published by various local realities linked to the so-called “catholic dissent” (spontaneous groups and grass-roots communities), spread throughout Italy in the period between the end of the Vatican II and the second half of the Seventies.

The research method includes the examination of journals and bulletins, in particular those edited by the grass-roots christian communities, contained in various archives and documentation centres as well as owned by private citizens.

The ultimate goal is to give a comprehensive and articulate image of the relationship between religious ideals, political choices and concrete experience of militants involved in the events of the post-conciliar ecclesial protest.
