Bonagrazia of Bergamo and the hypothesis of a heretic pope. Accusations and conflicts against the first popes of Avignon

The project highlights the importance of Bonagratia of Bergamo, friar Minor, which was involved in the disputes between Franciscans and John XXII (1322-1334) about franciscan poverty. Left aside by historiography, Bonagratia is worth to be considered because of two unpublished works on the controversy, the Responsiones (1323) and the Appellatio (1334), that will give an insight about his thought during the debates on absolute poverty against the papacy.
