

Alberto Melloni is Full Professor of History of Christianity at the Department of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He has been an Accademico dei Lincei since 2017.
As of 2020, he is one of the European Commission’s Chief Scientific Advisors. He is project coordinator of the research infrastructure RESILIENCE. He is the founder and coordinator of the Italian National PhD Program in Religious Studies. In 2007, he succeeded Giuseppe Alberigo and became secretary of FSCIRE.
