

Francesca Ersilia is Full Professor of Islamic History in the Department of Asian, African and Mediterranean Studies at the University of Naples “L’Orientale,” where she teaches Gender Studies in an Islamic Context and Contemporary History of Economics in the MENA Region. She is director of the Centro Studi sul Mondo Islamico/Center of Islamic Studies (CeSMI) at the “L’Orientale” and of the journal Studi Magrebini (a class A journal) published by Brill.
She is member of the Scientific Committee of the International Association on Ibadi Studies and chief editor with A. al-Salimi of the series Studies on Ibadism and Oman, Olms (Germany).
Her latest book is Economia, religione e morale nell’islam, Carocci, Roma, 2013.
