Barbara De Serio is Full Professor of History of Pedagogy at the University of Foggia. Among her main fields and research interests are Montessori pedagogy, with particular reference to the early childhood education sector; the history of childhood, with particular reference to childhood abandonment between the 19th and 20th century; and the history of maternity.
Her latest book is L’infanzia abbandonata a Taranto nel XIX secolo. Storia ed evoluzione dei servizi di accoglienza dei bambini esposti, Pensa Multimedia, Lecce, 2019.
